Boston's Bochniak Returns to Action This Saturday at XMMA1

Travis Lizotte "Full Contact Writer"

It's been nearly 14 months since Broadway Jiu Jitsu's Kyle "Crash" Bochniak (8-5) last made his walk to the UFC's Octagon where he suffered his third straight decision loss, leading to his subsequent departure from the UFC. Although his seven fight UFC tenure may not have lived up to the former CES MMA Star's expectations, Bochniak did provide some lasting memories as he went toe to toe with some of the World's best Featherweights, including and absolute barn burner of a contests against Zabit Magomedsharipov (18-1) at UFC 223 in April of 2018. Following his dismissal from the UFC, Bochniak spent all of 2020 on the sidelines, while he waited for his next opportunity to perform.

Enter XMMA, an upstart promotion from West Palm Beach, Florida who has tabbed Bochniak as half of its co-main event this Saturday night at XMMA1 from the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Bochniak will share the co-spotlight with 27 year old Titan FC veteran Caio Uruguai (7-3) whose layoff from MMA competition dates back more than 18 months to his Split Decision loss to Timothy Teves at Titan FC 55 in June of 2019. Uruguai and Bochniak will both be looking turn the corner in their careers, as neither fighter has tasted victory since 2018, and could really use a high profile win to get their careers back on track.

XMMA looks to provide just the platform to put a fighters careers on track; as they have compiled an absolutely stacked card to kick off 2021 that has drawn the attention of MMA fans across the globe. In the Main Event former UFC Welterweight/Lightweight contender James "The Texecutioner" Vick (13-5) will lock horns with former Bellator and PFL Welterweight/Middleweight Andre Fialho (10-4), this too will be Vick's first taste of action since his departure from the UFC in 2019 following a four fight losing skid, with his most recent loss coming to Niko Price (14-4) who separated Vick from consciousness with a brutal upkick in the first round of their bout at UFC on ESPN+ 19 in October of 2019.

Another fighter with New England ties; Former CES Welterweight World Champion Chris "The Action Man" Curtis (22-8) goes to battle with UFC veteran and former United States Marine; Kyle "Gunz Up" Stewart (13-3) in what promises to be a highly skilled matchup at Middleweight. Also on the card, former WEC/UFC Bantamweight Francisco Rivera (11-7) meets Bellator/LFA veteran Ryan "The Lion" Lilley (10-6) at Featherweight, and former Bellator and PFL Heavyweight Jack "The Outlaw" May (11-6) takes on Island Fights Heavyweight veteran; Chris "Beast Boy" Barnett (21-6), all part of the Main Card at XMMA1.

Fans who wish to tune into XMMA1 Saturday night can do so by going to XMMA.com starting at 6 pm Eastern Time, where the entire fight card will be streamed for free. That's right fight fans, upstart regional promotion, stacked fight card full of big named veterans and it all comes to you via free live stream, what more could you ask for? How about a pair of big wins from CES MMA alumni Kyle "Crash" Bochniak and Chris "The Action Man" Curtis? Yeah, that should satisfy our hunger for live fisticuffs for another week!
