Massive beans being spilt here at NEMMA! Based on conversations with our sources, and some other available public information, it looks as though CES Boxing will be promoting the massive Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. boxing exhibition bout on Saturday September 12th at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
With the California State Athletic Commission clearing the way for MMA and boxing events last week, the timing makes sense, and when you take a look at "Patrick Sullivan" being listed as the matchmaker on BoxRec.com for the September 12th event (pictured below), then it all starts to come together. Our sources say that Pat Sullivan is currently the matchmaker listed for the Tyson/Jones Jr. fight, and also for another high profile exhibition bout on the card, YouTube star Logan Paul vs. former NBA player Nate Robinson.
It has already been confirmed that Tyson vs. Jones Jr. will take place on September 12th at the Dignity Health Sports Park, so seeing Pat Sullivan listed as the matchmaker makes a lot of sense, and when you combine that with our sources knowledge, it's pretty easy to connect the dots that CES Boxing will be promoting the event. At this point it's only been confirmed that Pat Sullivan is the matchmaker on the two exhibition bouts, but it's rather easy to surmise that CES Boxing will be the banner that they'll be competing under come September 12th.
What a massive get by the New England based promotion! Congrats to the Burchfield's, Pat Sullivan, and the whole team at CES for being involved with such a high-profile event in combat sports history. The bout will be available on PPV as well as the multimedia platform Triller. We reached out to Pat Sullivan, but at the time of publication we had not heard back from him. We will update this story if and when he does.
UPDATE: We connected with Pat Sullivan, and at this time he and the promotion have no comment.
