It's another busy weekend on the New England MMA scene as Cage Titans rolls back through Plymouth Memorial Hall this Saturday night when Michael Polvere and his crew present Cage Titans 52: Lacey vs. Campbell. Cage Titans rolls out yet another action packed line up, including some of the regions up and comers, competing along side some of the biggest names in all of New England MMA. Fifteen fights line the marquee Saturday night from Plymouth, Massachusetts, a mixture of Muay Thai, BJJ and MMA culminate with a headlining bout in the Featherweight division between two New England MMA OGs; Nostos MMA's Aaron "Relentless" Lacey (7-2) and Mr. Cage Titans himself; Johnny "Cupcakes" Campbell (21-14).
In a Main Event that has been somewhat of a revolving door over the last month or so Aaron Lacey (initially slated to fight Peter Barrett at Lightweight) will now take on late replacement Johnny Campbell. Originally scheduled to be in the main event slot; "Shameless" Don Shainis (9-3, Initially slated to headline Cage Titans 52 against Shane Manley) now slides down two spots on the card to take on Jay "The Silent Assassin" Ellis (16-104) in a Lightweight feature bout. Leaving room in the co-main event slot for a Catchweight bout at 180 pounds between former Cage Titans Welterweight title challenger; Marty "The Beast" Navis (5-1) and Fusion X-cel's (Florida) Adriano Capitulino (8-4).
Cage Titans 52 continues with a pair of professional Women's bouts, first in the Strawweight division South Shore Sportfighting Submission Specialist Danielle "The Dark Horse" Hindley (4-2) returns to Cage Titans following a one fight stint with LFA to take on another Fusion X-cel fighter making their New England MMA debut; Ariana "Kidd Diamond" Melendez (1-1). The second Women's bout will be contested in the Flyweight division and features the return of Kylie O'Hearn (1-2) who has moved her training camp from her native Massachusetts to St. Louis, Missouri to train with James Krause at Glory MMA. Kylie welcomes another dangerous foe to the Cage Titans cage Saturday night when she welcomes Gabriella "GDaddy" Gulfin (4-3) to Plymouth Memorial Hall for the very first time.
The Cage Titans 52 main card will kick off in the Amateur Heavyweight division with an absolute banger of an Amateur Heavyweight Title tilt as former Cage Titans Amateur Heavyweight champion Jeff Soivilien (5-4) looks to regain his crown against surging slugger Hassan "Bounty Hunter" Graham (2-0, 2 Knockouts). Graham has been on a tear since cracking the Amateur ranks in September of last year with a third round Knockout of Max Lombardo, following it up with a 30 second drubbing of Erick Rondan at Cage Titans: Combat Night 3. Setting up this bout with the former champion Jeff Soivilien. Soivilien relinquished his Cage Titans Amateur Heavyweight crown in 2017 by decision, in a rematch with Rob Brown. Soivilien would go on to capture another regional title last September before returning to Cage Titans Saturday night looking to recapture the belt that once resided around his waist. This could be an early favorite for "fight of the night" honors as these two powerful big men exchange pleasantries with the Heavyweight strap on the line.
Saturday night's undercard is more of what we have grown to expect from the Cage Titans promotion; some of the region's finest home grown talent, looking to become the next "big thing" in New England MMA. One of those young rising stars; Lauzon MMA's Andrew "The Gladiator" Valdina (3-2) hopes to bounce back off a narrow Split-Decision loss to Arthur Mpofu in February for the Cage Titans Amateur Bantamweight title. Valdina stays active here at Cage Titans 52 when he welcomes Massachusetts native "Pastor" Angel Acevedo (1-1) who will be gunning for his second amateur victory in his Cage Titans debut.
Another exciting former Cage Titans Amateur title challenger; Joe Poirier (2-1) fell short in his effort to capture the Cage Titans Flyweight title at Cage Titans 49 against current champion Nate Russell. Poirier gets back in the saddle Saturday night at Cage Titans 52 when he makes his Bantamweight debut against newcomer Jake Jonsgaard (0-0) from Winona, Minnesota. Still at just 25 years of age and possessing excellent skill and size for the Amateur Flyweight division, Poirier is still one of the top Amateur talents in the region, even with the loss to Russell last time out. Poirier looks to put Flyweights and Bantamweights back on notice Saturday night with an impressive performance against New England MMA rookie Jake Jonsgaard.
