Cage Titans 55: Live Play-by-Play

We are live here at Plymouth Memorial Hall for Cage Titans 55, follow along for live play by play results throughout the night. Opening bell is due to sound promptly at 6pm and we will be live along the way...Follow Me!


185 AM Muay Thai Sean Wakefield (0-0, Evolution Athletix) vs Brian Ferguson (0-0, Nostos)

Results: Welp these dudes came to bang, what a way to kick off this Cage Titans 55 card. Great Fight that will go down to the judge's scorecards where we see scores of 29-28 across the board for your winner by Unanimous Decision Sean Wakefield.


Steve Pyles (0-1, Dexter) vs Shane Wellman (0-0, Lauzon MMA)

Amateur Catchweight (190 lbs.)

Round 1: They both come out trading lengthy combinations and a massive right hand from Wellman lands and Pyles lands cold on the canvas! Wow!


Decision: Shane Wellman Defeats Steve Pyler by Knockout (Punch) at :20 seconds of round number one!


Gage Looby (1-9, Red Planet) vs Mike Robillard (0-0, SSSF)

Amateur Catchweight (160 lbs.)

Looby comes out with 1 win on his record...and addorned with UFC gear head to toe...I digress...

Round 1: Gage comes out with a kick to the body and Mike catches it and plows him to the canvas. Gage gets back to his feet but Mike takes him back down and begins to work the ground and pound as Looby is in survival mode. Chris Burke takes an nice long look as Looby eats hammerfists to the face.


Decision: Mike Robillard defeats Gage Looby by first round TKO (Ground and Pound) at 2:54.


Jake Caskey (1-1, Dexter) vs Mike Antidormi (2-0, CT Combat)

Amateur Featherweight

Round 1: Mike comes out with a loud leg kick to start the action as Caskey looks to cut angles and cut off the cage. Caskey works Mike to the cage and the clinch there before Mike punches his way back to the center. Caskey comes forward with a three punch combination that gets Antidormi's attention as Caskey lands to the cup of Antidormi. Caskey is coming forward with strikes off the restart as Mike looks to counter. Close first round 10-9 Caskey.


Round 2: Round 2 starts with Caskey in persiut of Antidormi and now Antidormi lands to the cup of Caskey and we see another break in the action. Caskey touches gloves and lets Mike know they are even as the restart comes with Caskey coming forward again. Caskey traps Antidormi on the cage and gets him to the ground briefly but it is short lived before we return to striking distance. Caskey lands a combination that ends with an uppercut and Mike answers with a kick as they trade for the final 30 seconds of the round. 10-9 Antidormi but another close one.


Round 3: Caskey comes out in the third knowing this is anyone’s fight as he looks to dictate the pace as they trade back and forth on the feet for the first half of the round as Mike continues to counter the aggression of Caskey. Jake continues to be the more active fighter down the stretch but this fight could go either way. 10-9 Antidormi...


Decision: Mike Antidormi defeats Jake Caskey by Decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)


Wolfgang Fiasconaro (1-1, Rogers) vs Andrew Jacobs (1-1, Lauzon)

Amateur Catchweight (210 lbs.)

Round 1: Wolfgang comes out with looping right hands and Jacobs returns with with a combination that ends in a glancing high kick but Wolfgang uses it to take Jacobs down and get the back. Jacobs finds a hole in the top position of Fiascanaro and gets to his feet landing bombs as we return to the center of the cage. Jacobs grabs the thai plum and lands a knee but Wolf returns fire as the round ends. 10-9 Fiasconaro.


Round 2: Doctor is in between rounds to check on Jacobs...Round 2 starts viciously on the feet once again for both men. Wolf backs Jacobs to the fence with strikes but Andrew circles out and puts Wolf on the fence where he lands a high kick. An Anaconda attempts for Wolf gets rolled into a Hell hook attempt by Jacobs that ends with Wolf on the back of Jacobs with 20 seconds left. Wolf lands some fists on the ground as the round comes to a close. 10-9 Fiasconaro.


Round 3: Jacobs comes out with a straight jab that wobbles Wolf as Jacobs may be down 2 rounds but looks to be the fresher fighter. Jacobs is strating to add up the damage a Wolf looks to keep his feet under him. Jacobs clinches and lands a knee and a right hand as Wolf has no punching power left. An outside judo trip has Wold on the ground with Andrew on top with 20 seconds left. 10-9 Jacobs.


Decision: Wolfgang Fiasconaro defeats Andrew Jacobs by Unanimous Decision (29-29 x3).


Donavan Lozada (1-1, G & G) vs Raoul Scott (0-0, UFC Gym)

Amateur Heavyweight

Round 1: They come out testing the distance early before Lozada initites the clinch. Lozada eventually trips Scott to the canvas but Scott returns to the feet where he puts Lozada on the cage. They go to the canvas and Scott gets full mount, Scott postures up and lands come strikes as Lozada tries to scramble. Scott remains on top however and finishes the fight with ground and pound.


Decision: Raoul Scott defeats Donavan Lozada by TKO (Ground and Pound) at 2:49 of the first round.

John Lee (0-1, Cage JSA) vs Dan Walsh (1-1, Lauzon)

Amateur Catchweight (150 lbs.)

Round 1: Lee comes out throwing leather as Walsh counters with some strikes of his own the first time around the cage. Lee catches a knee from Walsh and sets him on the canvas but Dan ties up a tight triangle that warrents the stoppage.


Decision: "Only Dans" Dan Walsh defeats John Lee by Submission (Triangle Choke) at :49 seconds of the first round.


160 AM Muay Thai Julian Connerton (2-1, Evolution) vs Anthony Scott (11-9, Red Seal)

Results: Connerton gave up a lot of length in this one, but what he lacked in reach he made up for in activity across the first half of the fight. But as the fight wore on Scott remained the fresher fighter and his damage began to add up on the face of Connerton. Scott comes out in the third and pours it on for the TKO stoppage. Anthony Scott defeats Julian Connerton by TKO at :19 seconds of the third round.


After a brief intermission we are back to SLAY the second half of this Cage Titans 55 Fightcard!


Wayne Downer (0-0, Cage JSA) vs Kyle Pavao (0-0, Triforce)

Amateur Lightweight

Round 1: They exchange legs kicks to open this one as both guys look to get their distance in their MMA debuts. Kyle shoots for a takedown and picks Downer up high above the cage and slams him infront of his Tri-Force MMA corner. Kyle works to full mount and is looking to land strikes. Pavano gives his back to avoid the strikes and i caught in a deep Arm Triangle. Somehow Downer escapes and throws up the high guard looking for an armbar. Pavao is saved by the bell. 10-9 Pavano.


Round 2: Kyle comes out with a right hand that he uses to close the distance and take Wayne to the mat where he works from side control. Pavano works the crucifix and as Downer looks to escape a pop echos throughout the arena and Downers arm is severly injured.


Decision: Kyle Pavao defeats Wayne Downer by Technical Submission (Americana/Arm Injury) at 1:40 of the second round.

As Downer is recieving attention in the cage a member of the audiance passes out in the crowd...things are getting dicey here in the Memorial Hall!


I would imagine this will put a long hault to the action as the first ambulance has already been used to transport Wolfgang Fiancano to the hospital....


170 AM Muay Thai James Thomas (0-0, G & G) vs Will Doolin (0-0, USMMA)

Results: Doolin came to strike in this one and it seems like Thomas came to clinch. Doolin turns in two knockdowns in the second round and Chris Burke has seen enough and calls a stop to this one at :56 seconds of the second round by TKO.


Rafael Lopez (1-0, Cage JSA) vs Jayden Curley (0-0, BTT Taunton)

Amateur Welterweight

Round 1: Curley comes out firing right hands and Lopez returns with a combination that sits Curely down and these guys are going to WAR! Curley gets in a huge slam and works briefly from the top before letting Lopez back to the feet where they continue to trade heavy shots! Curley slips a punch from Lopez and drags him to the canvas where he lands some nice shots before Lopez stands once again. Curley takes him down again but Lopez stands on the cage as round one comes to an end. 10-9 Curley.

Round 2: Round 2 begins with more right handsfrom Curley that back Lopez to the cage where Curley takes him to the mat. Curley works to full mount and lands heavy ground and pound that gets Chris Burke taking a closer look. A couple more hammerfists from Curley and that's all she wrote for Lopez.


Decision: Jay Curley defeats Rafael Lopez by TKO (Ground and Pound) at 1:25 of the second round.


Josh Smith (1-0, NOSTOS) vs Shane Dillehay (2-2, Triforce)

Amateur Welterweight

Round 1: Smith comes out and looks for a single leg and Dillehay stuffs, Dilehay follows with a kick to the midsection that SMith catches and uses to put Dillehay ahainst the cage where he looks for a takedown. Dillehay stuffs. Smith shoots again for the single leg but Dillehay is proving tough to get to the canvas. Dillehay unloads with strikes as Smith retreats backwards. Shane drops Smith in the corner and finishes the fight with hammerfists.


Decision: Shane Dillehay defeats Josh Smith by TKO (Ground and Pound) at 2:28 of the first round.


David Burke (2-0 Nostos) vs. Jideofor Ojukwu (4-1 Citadel)

Amateur Middleweight (Title)

Round 1: They exchange quick in the center and Burke has Ojukwu hurt, Burke slips and returns to his feet with a right hand that sends Ojukwu to the shadow realm!


Decision: David Burke defeats Jideofor Ojukwu by KNOCKOUT at 22 seconds of the very first round. Your NEW Cage Titans Amateur Middleweight Champion is David Burke and the rest of the New England MMA Middleweight division is left standing in a puddle of piss.


Tyler Smythe (5-2 Evolution) vs. Arthur Mpofu (5-4 SBG)

Amateur Bantamweight (Title)

Round 1: Arthur comes out looking to strike and Smythe shoots for the takedown and gets it. Arthur looks to get back up but Smythe dumps him again and works in his Evolution Athletix corner from top control. Arthur throws up high guard looking for the triangle but Smythe defends. Smythe remains in top control as the first round ends. 10-9 Smythe.


Round 2: Smythe gets the takedown to stat the round and Arthur looks for an armbar from the bottom but Smythe defends. Smythe works to full mount briefly but Arthur gets back to half guard. Tyler spends the remainder of the round on top finishing with hammerfists. 10-9 Smythe.


Round 3: More of the same from Smythe as he backs Arthur to the fence and takes him down where he again works from top position. Arthur rolls for a heel but Smythe is wise to it and remains on top. Arthur looks for another armbar attempt but again Smythe defends. And remaine on top for the remainder of the round. 10-9 Smythe


Round 4: This time it takes a little more work from Smythe but he again gets the takedown and works on Arthur from top position. Tyler looks to take Arthur's back and Arthur ends up on top now for the first time in this fight. Smythe makes it back to his feet and accepts strikes from Arthur as the round ends. 10-9 Mpofu.


Round 5: Smythe tries to once again get an early takedown but Arthur avoids the attempt and knocks Tyler to the canvas with a kick. Smythe works back up before taking Arthur down again with just over a minute to work. Arthur stands and lands some heavy strikes that lead to Chris Burke calling a pause as Smythe lost his mouthpiece. Burke takes a closer look at Smythe and calls a stop to this one and declares Arthur Mpofu the winner. Not really sure what transpired or what lead to the stoppage but this one is over and Arthur Mpofu retains his Cage Titans Amateur Bantamweigth Championship.


Decision: Arthur Mpofu defeats Tyler Smythe by TKO at 2:50 of the fifth and final round...WOW Tyler was 10 seconds away from another title when this fight was called....


Kam Arnold (1-0 Recon) vs. Mike Taylor (1-4 Brojo)

Bantamweight

Round 1: Kam comes out behind a leg kick and our first pro action is now underway. Taylor connects to the cup of Kam and we have a brief stoppage. Action continues on the feet as leg kick lead to overhand lefts from Arnold, Arnold knocks Taylor down and follows up with ground and pound for the stoppage.


Decision: Kam Arnold defeats Michael Taylor by TKO at 1:58 of the first round.


Lionel Young (10-18 Citadel) vs. Will Smith (3-4 Black Wolf)

Featherweight

Round 1: Will comes out behind a leg kick and a long jab, Lionel knocks Smith to the canvas and follows with heavy ground and pound for the quick stoppage.


Decision: Lionel Young defeats Will Smith by TKO (Ground and Pound) at :33 of the first round.


Jashua Marsh (5-5 Carlos Gracie) vs. Brendan Battles (2-1 Loco Lobo)

Heavyweight

Round 1: Marsh lands a leg kick and Battles answers with a combination that backs Marsh up. Marsh shhots for a takedown and is stuffed by Battles. In the exchange Battles takes a shot to the groin that stops the action. Action resumes with a combination from Battles then a clinch that ends up with Marsh's back on the cage and Brendan looking for a double leg. Marsh stuffs and they return to striking distance where Battle lands a big right that stumbles Marsh and Battles has him on the ground in top control now. Marsh returns to his feet but Battles hashim against the cage and forces another takedown, Battles takes the back and is raining down heavy ground and pound to gain the referees stoppage from Chris Burke.


Decision: Brendan Battles defeats Jashua Marsh by TKO (Ground and Pound) at 4:24 of the first round.


Joe Giannetti (12-4 BTT Taunton) vs. Trevor Gudde (4-2 Citadel)

Welterweight Title (Vacant)


Round 1: They come out striking as Gudde closes distance and clinches Giannetti against the cage. Joe escapes and returns to striking distance as they are happy to trade combinations early. Joe knocks Gudde down and wants no part of the ground game with Gudde and lets him right back up. Gudde shoots and Joe grabs a guillotine and it looks pretty deep but Trevor is defending well and gets back to his feet! Gudde looks tired as the first round ends. 10-9 Giannetti.

Round 2: Round 2 comences with Joe finding a home for his left hand, enough so that Gudde initiates the clinch and looks to take Joe down. Gudde tries to take Joe's back standing and a grappling exchange ensues with Giannetti ending up on top looking to harvest the neck of Gudde. Giannetti lets Gudde back to the feet and Joe lands a nice spinning backfist as the strikes are continuing to wear on Gudde. Trevor clinches. Joe returns to range and lands another left hand before Gudde clinches again and hold on until the end of the round. 10-9 Giannetti.

Steve Rita call in the Cageside doctor in between round and I believe Gudde is having trouble seeing out of his righteye . This fight ends on the stool between rounds 2 and 3.

Decision: Joe Giannetti defeats Trevor Gudde by TKO (Doctor Stoppage) at 5:00 of the second round. Joe Giannetti claims his second concurrent Cage Titans title as he now holds the promotion's Lightweight and Welterweight belts.
