“The Skinny”: A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and the Jits coach for the famed “New England Cartel”, Renzo Gracie NH’s Nick Fiore is an extremely exciting prospect at just 23 years of age. Flanked by the top team in New England and grinding daily with the likes of Calvin Kattar and Rob Font, Fiore looks to be the next big prospect turned out by Tyson Chartier, Jake Mainini and the Cartel crew. Fiore hits the cage Friday night for the first time since the pandemic with lofty goals in mind as he makes his CES MMA debut against a familiar foe in Jay Ellis (who steps in on short notice to replace Shaquan Moore) and gunning for his second straight finish to open his professional career.

Breakdown: There is always something to be said about the people you surround yourself with, and for Derry, New Hampshire’s Nick Fiore that small circle includes; Tyson Chartier, Jake Mainini, Calvin Kattar, Rob Font, Tom Pagliarulo and Mitch Raposo which immediately makes the expectations for the 23 year old BJJ Black Belt extremely high. Fiore will make his CES MMA debut Friday night with a ton of hype behind him as he meets 113 fight veteran; Jay Ellis for the second time in his career. Once again we have to commend Jay Ellis for saving yet another fight camp for a very promising prospect, this time that prospect just happens to be Nick Fiore, again.
Ellis needs to find a way to stay at distance in this one and not allow Fiore to get his hands on him because once that happens it’s a downhill slope into very deep waters. Once he takes hold; Fiore will do what he does best, drag Jay to the ground and finish him with whatever submission his bag of tricks deems to be necessary given the circumstances. Nick Fiore leaves CES 63 and Springfield, Massachusetts Friday night with his second professional win (over Jay Ellis) in his back pocket, book it!
