CES Boxing wastes no time beginning 2023 as they are set to host a thrilling boxing card at the beautiful Mohegan Sun Casino on Saturday, January 21. The card is made up of 11 fantastic fights with some well-known New England names included.
When the action gets started at the beautiful Mohegan Sun Casino, fans should prepare to watch tons of New England talent. These fighters are working their way through the ranks of boxing and chasing a common goal; becoming World Champions. Many of them reside and/or train right here in New England. This card will be a great one to showcase local talent and Mohegan Sun is the perfect place for it. Can't go wrong being at Mohegan Sun on Saturday the 21st, watch the CES Boxing event LIVE and head then over to one of the sports bars to watch UFC 283: Teixeira vs. Hill. Danbury, CT's Glover Teixeira competes for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.
Many of the fighters on the card are great New England prospects. New England talent will certainly be showcased under the bright lights of CES at Mohegan Sun Casino, plus the card from top to bottom is one of the best local boxing cards we've seen.

Kevin Walsh - (6-0 - Brockton, MA)
Kevin takes on Christian Otero on Saturday night. Walsh is up-and-coming in his career and has yet to lose a fight. 4 of his 6 wins have come by stoppage due to KO/TKO. Walsh is a heavy hitter in the featherweight division and will seek to keep this early hot streak going in his first fight of 2023.
Irvin Gonzalez - (15-3 - Worcester, MA)
Irvin welcomes Danny Aguero, the professional boxer from the Dominican Republic to compete for the WBC Silver Featherweight title. This is a huge matchup with a lot on the line for both fighters. This fight brings a lot to the card and gives fans the opportunity to watch some experienced boxers battle it out for the WBC Silver Featherweight Belt. These two will definitely bring their best and put on awesome performances.
Mike Kimbel - (Boxing Debut - Waterbury, CT)
Mike Kimbel makes his first professional boxing walk this coming Saturday. Waterbury's own has been training under Head Coach Chad Dawson and plans to put on a show in front of his hometown crowd when he takes on Robert Banks. Kimbel has been preparing for this outing for quite some time after what many know him for, his MMA career. After fighting for promotions like Bellator and CES, Kimbel decided that boxing would be his next focus and here's why:
John Gotti III - (1-0 - Oyster Bay, NY)
Gotti III also known for his MMA career, will now walk out to a CES ring, rather than a CES octagon. Most fans have seen Gotti fighting under the CES MMA banner, but now he will box under CES Boxing. After 6 MMA fights under with, Gotti is definitely no stranger to New England. Don't blink when the hard hittin' John Gotti III takes on Alex Citrowske.
Kendrick Ball Jr. - (19-1-2 - Worcester, MA)
Kendrick Ball Jr. is a familiar name when it comes to New England Boxing as the nearly perfect professional has been on a win streak since his one and only loss in 22 fights back in 2018. When Kendrick gets in the ring, expect violence and power. Kendrick has plenty of knockout power but is also strong and durable, fully capable of going the distance and doing damage at all times. Kendrick looks to pick up his 20th win come January 21 and advance in his career as well.
Josniel Castro - (9-0 - Puerto Rico, fighting out of Westbrook, ME)
The 25 year old Josniel Castro looks to improve his winning streak to 10-0 when he takes on Quebec's Mitch Louis-Charles. Josniel is a young and powerful Junior Middleweight at 5 foot 9 inches. This should be an awesome fight as well considering Josniel has knocked out 5 of his previous opponents and is known for some very exciting performances. Josniel looks to keep his hot streak rolling on here in Early 2023.
Alejandro Paulino - (11-0 - Dominican Republic, fighting out of New London, CT)
With 8 of his 11 wins by KO/TKO, "The Hybrid", is off to a great start in his career. He seeks to extend his win streak to 12-0 with a win over Ryizeemmion Ford who is absolutely a qualified opponent with a record of 8-3. These two will battle it out in a Lightweight bout under the bright lights.
Chordale Booker - (17-1-Stamford, CT)
"The Gift", is coming off his first career loss to Austin Williams on the Taylor vs. Serrano card in early 2022. After about 8 months off, Chordale is back and ready to make his way back to those cards and others like PBC On Fox, which he also fought on. Chordale will have the experienced Angel Hernandez on his hands as he looks to strike another notch in the win column. This will be an exciting matchup as fans will have the opportunity to watch another piece of New England's best.
Juiseppe Cusumano - (21-4 - Danville, VA)
"The Sicilian Nightmare", Juiseppe Cusumano, will take on Istvan Bernath in the main event on Saturday night. Juiseppe has been training at Champ's Boxing in Danbury, CTwith Coach Dave McDonough and Coach Gareth McCloskey of Farmerstrength in preparation for this fight. New England MMA writer, Dylan Napoleone, had the chance to witness some of the training and preparation during this camp and it truly was the textbook environment for a high level athlete preparing to move forward in his boxing career.
