The New England favorite, Jay Perrin, makes his third UFC walk this coming Saturday under the bright lights of UFC 282: Blachowicz vs. Ankalaev. "The Joker" (10-6) welcomes Raul Rosas Jr. to the UFC octagon on a great UFC card to wrap up 2022. Raul Rosas Jr. is an undefeated (6-0) eighteen-year-old Bantamweight from Mexico. He goes by "El Nino Problema" which translates to "The Problem Boy" and is the youngest active fighter on the UFC roster and in UFC history. Rosas Jr. is coming off a unanimous decision win over Mando Gutierrez in September which punched his way to the UFC through Dana White's Contender Series.
This matchup should be great as both men come with similar experience and skill levels. Rosas has won 5 of his 6 fights by stoppage. He had never fought past the second round before his DWCS matchup. Gutierrez certainly gave him his toughest battle but Rosa shows that even with a higher level opponent and a tough three rounds, his skill and endurance are to par.
Massachusetts's own Jay Perrin is seeking his first UFC winning moment as well. Early in his career, Perrin fought for 5 different promotions including NEF, Bellator, CES, and Cage Titans. Perrin was dominating at the regional level putting out all sorts of great performances and fighting high level opponents all the way through. His first UFC shot came in 2019 when he fought on Dana White's Contender Series against the very skillful Dwight Joseph. This was one hell of a fight with some very exciting moments but Dwight Joseph got his hand raised via decision. After this, Perrin went back to the regional promotions and put together two more impressive victories and even got himself some gold. Perrin was in camp to defend his CES Bantamweight Belt when the UFC called on short notice. Here was his next opportunity to fight in the UFC. It was a short notice fight against Mario Bautista. Perrin had been preparing to defend his CES belt but took the UFCopportunity for the sake of his long term career. Both men fought with heart and gave their all but Bautista took the win by unanimous decision. After that, Perrin fought on UFC 278 against China's own, Aoriqileng. This was also another intriguing matchup and another high level opponent. Aoriqileng absolutely ran through his smaller promotion opportunities before making it to the UFC as well. He had 32 professional fights before fighting Perrin. This fight also ended by unanimous decision and Aoriqileng got the win
There's a lot on the line in this Perrin vs. Rosas Jr fight as both men look to solidify themselves in the UFC with their fight win under the brightest lights in the game.
There's no telling how this one will go!! Both men have collectively won fights by a plethora of different submissions and KO's but they're also built strong and durable, ready to go the distance. WE HAVE A FIGHT!!
