NEF 46: Glory Watson Post-Fight Interview

Young's MMA product Glory Watson (2-1) was looking to string her 2nd professional MMA win in a row in front of a raucus crowd in Portland, Maine on Saturday night. Watson capitalized on the opportunity and secured a technical submission in the 2nd round of her battle with Alibeth Milliron (2-1), who traveled to New England from Michigan to take on the rising star.

The first round played out mostly on the feet, with both Milliron and Watson landing some heavy shots in the pocket. Watson looked rocked at one point in the 1st round, but she recovered quickly and started to find her timing. Both fighters were showing some blood as the 1st round came to a close, but Watson looked to be the fresher fighter as the 2nd round started, and momentum began building.

Watson ended up cutting Milliron with a strike in the 2nd round and blood started flowing pretty freely. "The Fury" was able to take advantage of her aggressiveness on the feet, and got a takedown midway through the 2nd round. Glory was improved position and was able to take the back of Milliron before sinking in her hooks and securing a rear naked choke that rendered her opponent unconscious, forcing the ref to step in and stop the fight via technical submission. Watson improved to 2-1 in what I consider the Fight of the Night, and caught up with Steve Domenico after her fight. Check out the full interview below.
