Ras Hylton Steps Back into the Bellator Cage on 9/12

Updated: Oct 14, 2020

After pulling off the biggest victory of his career at Bellator 242 just over a month ago on 3 days notice, Ras "Rasquatch" Hylton (6-4), is making a quick turnaround, and will be making his 2nd appearance with the organization. After beating a 6-1 Rudy Schaffroth on very short notice, Ras had shown enough to the organization to get the callback.

Hylton will be taking on a very raw but talented prospect in Davion Franklin (1-0) on Saturday September 12th at Mohegan Sun. Franklin is a high-level wrestler who only started training MMA about a year and a half ago. He trains out of one of the best camps in the world in Jackson-Wink MMA, and he's also in a developmental deal with Bellator. Franklin bypassed the amateur ranks and made his MMA debut at Bellator 239 when he defeated an overmatched JW Kiser by ground N pound in the 1st round.

Franklin is big, physical, and is a very good wrestler, but his striking is very basic and still developing. Hylton will need to keep this fight standing and at range in order to give himself the best shot at victory. He doesn't want to play in Franklin's world, which is on the mat.

Congrats to Ras Hylton on booking the biggest fight of his life with the 2nd biggest organization in the world.
