The long-awaited return of New England Fights will happen on August 21st in Milford, New Hampshire, the promotions first foray into the Granite State. Promoters Matt Peterson and Nick DiSalvo announced today that NEF 44: Back in Black would be taking place at the Hampshire Dome, and would be a combined MMA and kickboxing event, the promotions first event since NEF 42: Symphony of Destruction on February 8th of 2020.
The pandemic may have put NEF on the shelf for a year and a half, but Peterson and DiSalvo are looking to make a splash upon their return. The first fight that they've announced on the card is a high-level amateur welterweight contest between top ranked amateurs in the region. Mike "All Class" Bezanson (5-0) is currently ranked as the top amateur welterweight in New England, and he'll be taking on current NEF amateur welterweight champ, Duncan "The Highlander" Smith (5-3), who is the 5th ranked welterweight in New England. This will be an entertaining fight between two high-level welterweights who will undoubtedly be making the leap to the pro ranks in short time.
Keep an eye our for NEF to be announcing more fights in the coming weeks, and make sure you mark your calendars for August 21st, and get your ass to Milford, New Hampshire to see the return of New England Fights.
