Cage Titans 48 weight-ins took place Friday July 10th from Pinz in Kingston, Massachusetts and we were in the house to witness fighters make weight ahead of their bouts tonight at Cage Titans 48. 26 fighters tipped the scales in front of commissioners and media in attendance Friday afternoon at the Kingston Collection and aside from one surprise, the matinee event went off without a hitch. 13 fights are now scheduled for the long awaited return of Cage Titans, and Regional MMA here in New England; with an opening bell scheduled for 6 pm this evening in front of a sold out crowd at Plymouth Memorial Hall in historic Plymouth, Massachusetts.
We had heard rumblings over the past couple days that there would be a shake up on the card and we were able to confirm for ourselves Thursday night at the out of town fighter hotel; that Jay Ellis was in town to replace Kris Berberich and challenge undefeated Lauzon MMA prospect Connor “The Controller” Matthews. Due to the fight coming together in the 25th hour, this matchup will be contested in the Lightweight division, Matthews was initially due to face Berberich in Featherweight action. But it’s good news from down here on the South Shore as we anxiously await the opening bell here at Cage Titans 48 and the return of MMA in New England on a regional level.
