Pawtucket, Rhode Island's Dion "Young Thunder" Rubio (2-0, Tri-Force) dubbed his CES debut Friday night at CES 66 in Lincoln, Rhode Island a "homecoming" and described the entire experience as "surreal" getting to perform in front of his family and friends. And perform Dion most certainly did, using offence mostly provided by his ever improving hands, Rubio notched the first Knockout of his career, stopping the pro debut of Bobby Casale in the first round. Rubio, known most of his career as a grappler, only gets scarier when you mix in this newly improved MMA striking. The 26 year old "Young Thunder" continues to makes waves in New England's Lightweight division as he furthered his prospect status Friday night at CES 66 with a dominant performance in his UFC Fight Pass debut.
Dion caught up with the New England MMA team backstage at CES 66 Friday night following his first round knockout to discuss his evolution as a well-rounded mixed martial artist.
